There are lots of activities that occur "behind the scenes" to make the GNU Radio Conference happen. As the size and scale of GRCon has continued to grow, so have the responsibilities. GRCon is a volunteer-driven event. This means all of the work is done by volunteers, from setting up our website to organizing the venue and schedule. There are many opportunities to get involved both before the event and during the conference.
Here are some areas we could really use help:
Promotion and Advertising
Social media, print media, mailings, etc.
Call for Participation Reviewers
Read submitted abstracts and give anonymous opinions.
A/V and Logistics
Setup on Monday; strike Friday afternoon
Running sound, camera, OBS, streaming
Monitoring chat rooms during presentations for questions for presenter Q/A
Sound assistant - carrying mic during Q/A after talks
Monitoring streaming quality - can be done remotely
Amateur Radio Exams
Liaison with club doing exams (licensed ham preferred)
Helping with Social Events (Wed and Thurs evenings)
Other support during GRCon
If you are interested in volunteering please send us an email grcon@gnuradio.org!
